My new IVIG went well. It seemed to take longer than usual for the infusion. I was at the clinic for 6 1/2 hours. It gave me lots of time to think and to reflect on the events of the past few weeks. I was with my extended family for Thanksgiving. It was a fun but also a sad time. My cousin died a few weeks ago and the family did a memorial service for him. We drove to the small family cemetery where my parents and many other family members are buried. I have not been to the cemetery in several years. My cousin's brother did a small graveside service. This is one of the Bible verses that he read.
"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace."
Ecclesiastes 3. 1-8
I wasn't prepared for the strong emotions that I experienced. It is comforting to know that my parents are in Heaven but so difficult for me because I miss them both so much. I thought about how short time is and the importance to treasure each moment with the ones that we love. Time goes by so fast. We get so caught up in our busy lives, working, families, raising children, and other tasks and forget to spend time with our families and to tell our family members that we love them, value them and treasure them. Before we know it time is gone and the ones we love are gone. I plan to remember how important it is to use the time that God has given us more wisely.
