Attitude is important. I believe a positive attitude is one of the most becoming "outfits" I can wear. MG has impressed on me the importance of a positive attitude. I can choose to feel sorry for myself and the physical limitations that I have or I can choose to do what I can with a smile. Some days I can walk in my neighborhood and other days I can walk to the kitchen. Some days I can read a book and other days I can close my eyes and listen to music. Everyday I can choose a good attitude.
I have been asked on a number of occasions how I manage to keep a positive attitude with the challenges I face living with MG. I believe in blooming where I am planted. God is using MG to help me learn so many valuable lessons that I would have never learned otherwise. I am reminded of the words to the Casting Crowns song Praise You in This Storm.
And I'll praise you in this storm
and I will lift my hands
for You are who You are
no matter where I am
and every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
and though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
My heart feels torn at times. I struggle with a gamut of feelings. But I rest in the contentment of knowing that God is who He is. He is in charge of my storms. "Why then be downcast? Why be discouraged and sad? Hope in God! I shall yet praise Him again. Yes, I shall again praise Him for His help." Psalm 42: 5 TLB
